Register yourselfThe Annabhagya scheme is continuing under the slogan of hunger-free Karnataka and about 4 crore people are the beneficiaries of this scheme. The government's aim is that no one in the state should go hungry.
In 2023, the United Nations revealed that 280 million people in India suffer from hunger. Preventing food waste is a shared duty. The Food Department’s message is clear: rice is like gold, especially for the poor, and must not be wasted.
The right to food safeguards the fundamental right of every individual to be free from hunger, food insecurity, and malnutrition. Governments are therefore obligated to ensure access to food for all citizens, upholding their right to a healthy and dignified life.
This Act aims to guarantee food security for the nation's citizens. As per the Act, every member of selected households is provided with 5 kg of food grains monthly, while Antyodaya Anna Yojana families receive 35 kg per household, ensuring comprehensive support for those in need.
On April 8, 2022, the Union Cabinet approved the distribution of Fortified Rice through government programs. As per the FSSAI, this initiative aims to boost the levels of key micronutrients in food, enhancing nutritional quality and delivering significant public health benefits with minimal risks.
In this fast-paced world, taking care of one’s health is crucial, much like the saying “health is destiny.” We spread the message with our tagline: Good food is the foundation of good health.
The Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Limited facilitates the distribution of rations to all families across the state through a network of fair price shops.
There are numerous schemes available in the Food Department, yet the public remains uninformed. Through our World Food Day program, we strive to raise awareness about these initiatives, including Welfare and Dasoha.
Efforts will be made to enhance public understanding of the Consumer Protection Act, the Essential Commodities Act, and the Legal Metrology Act, emphasizing their significance and the rights they confer to consumers.
Creating awareness about the Essential Commodities Act is crucial. This Act aims to prevent unfair trade practices concerning governmentregulated goods and ensures their equitable distribution.
The purpose of the film "Anna" is to highlight the importance of rice. Hence, it has been decided to telecast the film on Chandana Vahini.
The anna bhagya scheme is continuing under the slogan of hunger-free Karnataka and the title song will be prepared by Hamsalekha and her team.
In an effort to reduce food wastage, a compelling visual representation will be designed by expert theater and film artists, centered around the slogan “Do Not Waste Rice: It’s a Lifeline for the Poor.”
